How to use Release Transfer function?

Hi Experts,

1. I have created the Product with the name Product1.

2. Under the Product1, I have created SWCV1 version 1.0 and SWCV1 version 2.0.

3. In the IR, I have created the same namespace name for both the versions.

4. Next step, I have to create the same objects in both namespace. I have created the objects in the first namespace(SWCV1 version 1.0) and when I tried to copy the objects from Version 1.0 to 2.0 I am getting the below error

"Copying to another software component version using the same name is not possible. Use the "Release Transfer" function for this purpose."

Could you please tell me, How/Where to use the Release Transfer function?

SaraD,

you may not have authorization to use Release Transfer so i would suggest use copyobject option to copy from one SWCV1 to SWCV2. right click on source select cop option change the SWCV

Hello Sara,

To release objectse from one SCV to another you need to follow the following procedure.

Login to Integration Repository.

Click on Tools -> Release Transfer. You can select the source & target interface or select individual objects if you want..
