difference between Ship to and Sold to

Hi,

Can some one let me know the difference between Ship to and Sold to with few examples.

Points will be awarded.

Hi

Sold to party is the highest level of data in the customer master. and it can have all the partner functions like SH, BP, & PY. And its not changeable. and is a mandatory. sold to party is the one who gives the order to the company.

where as ship to party is the one to whom deliveries is made. and there can me more no of SH, BP & Payers.

Sold to party: The customer you orders the goods. By default the sold to party, is in itself ship to party, bill to party and payer. So when we create sold to party we indirectly assign all the 3 with the same address.

Ship to Party: The customer who receives the goods. If the shipping address is different than the sold to party for shipping of goods. we can have different ship to party.

Sold to party can be Bata - New Delhi Head office, ship to party can be Bata - Mumbai, Bata - Chennai etc.
