Hi All,
Can anyone pls guide me on how to use External File servers for storing original files ?
My objective is to use sharepoint site (internet site/server) for storing documents.
I know the internet site URL. I have the authorization to store the docs in that.
I want to link that internet site with DMS.
How do I do that ?
Can you pls provide some input in that?
Its very urgent.
Thanks and warm regards
Purnendu

Hi Prunendu,
please see the attached PDF document which explains all the necessary settings to add URLs to a Document Info Record. After customizing those settings you should be able to link these
URLs to your document info records. The same information could be found in the SDN WIKI under the following link:
[Linking URL pages to Documents|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/plm/ca-dms-LinkingURLpagestoDocumentInfoRecords&]
Please note that these originals must not be checked in to a storage category, because they are already stored on the internet server. If you check them into a content server again, the file will be corrupted. So the linked URL originals always have to be left checked out.
Best regards,
Christoph
