Please tell me the purpose/usage of all the fields in cusomer master data - general data, company code data & sales area data.

The purpose of the general data is to maintain the details which can be viewed by all ie. by accounting, sales and others. and in company code the details which are requiered by the finance people are maintained ie. reconcilation account, insurance and others. and in sales area data the details which are required by the sales people are maintained. ie shipping conditions, customer pricing, incoterms, invoice dates and others.
the t codes are FKO1, for accounting view, and XDO1 for central view, and VDO1 for sales view.

General Data Section:
In General data section, Customer personal details like Name, Address,
Phone number etc. is going to be maintained.
Field for Customer Number [KUNNR]
Company Code data Section:
In Company Code data section, Customers financial details like A/c No,
SORT No, Insurance No, to be maintained.
Sales Area data section:
In this Section - Customer sales, shipping, Billing, partner functions are going
to be maintained.
Customer Partner Functions are maintained in [KNVP] table.
Customer Shipping details are maintained in [KNVS] table.

In order to know the imp of each filed in CMR, please use the help option (F1 by placing the cursor on the field) the information is in simple english and easy to understand. In case you do not understand the usage of any fields, please post the specific fields and we will be glad to provide you more info
