usage of mi_mcd

Hi Folks,

Can you help me in understanding the usage of mi_mcd transaction.

Is it mandatory to create the mobile component descriptor to make the MAM

Application work perfectly.

If it is mandatory to create an mcd for an MAM application can you tell me the steps to peform it.

can you throw some light on this.

Hi Aswini,

You don't need to use MI_MCD transaction to create entries for MAM application as the appliation is already available. When you make the deployment, the entry will be automatically created. But if you want to use distributor (Program merep_distributor) you need to edit the MCD and add the syncBO names in to that MCD.

Hi Aswinin,

if you are running MI2.5 or MI7.0 you do not need to run mi_mcd transacation explicitly to run MAM application (or any mobile app).

If I remember correctly this transaction was used in MI2.0 (and was required) to create a record for application in MI table. After creating this record you would be able to upload application on MI server.

In the newer version of MI you don't have to do it anymore. Just upload application on Web console or NW Admin
