hi
from help.sap.com i got this para REG : (http adapter) or (plain http adapter)
The adapter at the inbound channel is located before the Integration Engine pipeline and calls this pipeline. The adapter at the outbound channel is called by the pipeline, and can therefore be regarded as part of the pipeline.
please explain this para, i am confused,
generally outbound communication channel is before pipeline,
inbound communication channel is after the pipeline(according to my knowledge)
regards
sandeep.
Hey
as explained above, the inbound and outbound here is in terms of Integration engine and not sender or receiver systems.
see,in SAP XI the terms inbound and outbound are taken in terms of the system where the message is going or coming out.
you can think of the whole process as the following
Sender system(outbound)-->Inbound side of IE>Pipeline steps(executed in IE)->Outbound side of IE---->Receiver system(inbound)
Thanx
Aamir

Don't worry about this.
You have understood this correct.
In this page inbound is seen from point of XI.
From application system this means outbound.
Since XI 3.0 we talk about sender system and receiver system to avoid this confusion.

Stefan

Hello Sandeep,
you have some problem in terminology, a pipeline is a combination of a few steps (called pipeline elements) that together make up the pieplie.
there are diffrent pipeline for inbound and outbound processing.
you can actually see the pieplines in SXMB_ADMIN (under pipeline elemnts) and when you will see that it will be alot clearer
it is one of the chapter in TBIT51 or TBIT 40.
