Hi Friends,
We are in process of upgrading from R/3 4.6c to mySAP ERP 2004.We requet to help us in understanding the here under areas.
1.After migrating to mySAP ERP2004 can we stop using SAP GUI and
completely go for browser based access.
2.if so will all the existing transactions will be available as
services open for web access.
3.what are all the areas we have to concentrate if we want to stop the
usage of SAP GUI?
4.Are there any activities that we have to perform before if we want
to go for browser access?
5.Is there any document that describes how the user access would be in
mySAP ERP 2004 if he accesses through a browser?
We would be very thankful if some one can share their experience who have gone for complete web access.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
It is true that there are some limitations in WEBGUI.But for an end user not all transactions are needed.if the transactions that an end user use are available through ITS then it is always a feasable way to give him access through browser.
I collected whats is not possible through browser. It is best explained in note 775424.
we are in process identifying the feasability of the idea.
For the functional consultants we can always go for SAPGUI as they demand more functionality but for the rest of them I feel WEBGUI should suffice.
I request a commnet from SAP on this.
regards

Hi Mrutyunjay,
I think your basic assumption is wrong, you can not avoid SAPGUI as most of the transactions are still SAPGUI based. Only a small part of functionality in ERP2004 is browser enabled.
