Hi Vamsi !

The header mapping is made available in the receiver agreement. It is required in the IDoc adapter, for example, because the IDoc adapter does not know any communication parties.

After header mapping, the adapter must also convert the address to an external protocol.

Hi Vamsi

In the header mapping you can map the values of the following key fields of the receiver agreement to other values: sender and receiver party, sender and receiver service. The address fields (sender, receiver) in the message header are then transformed correspondingly during outbound processing.

The header mapping is important when configuring cross-company processes in which the business partners want to replace the names of their internal business systems with neutral representatives (party, business service).

For example ..when I am getting a message from sender A and we want to make this sender as B then we use header mapping. This is generally used to replicate the scenarion where I am using a different sending system but I am expecting a different system for routing mapping etc.,

Hi

Header mapping.

for example consider a case where the scenario is File to XI to IDoc, IDoc has to enter the

SAP system, but it needs have the necessary information.

like In IDoc (WGSREQ) a header called EDI_DC40, it has fields like

Direction

Message Type

Basic Type

Sender Port

Sender Partner

Receiver Partner

Receiver Port .....

This can header can be even disabled and can be used the header information can be automatically filled in configuration time also. This can be done in case suppose when IDoc is receiver you need to 'tick' the option Apply control records values from payload
