Hello XI-perts,
after setting up Archiving & Deletion on our development XI, I face this issue:
old messages are neither archived nor deleted, even though they are not in the retention time - report RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS shows 179,647 messages that can be deleted. Most of these have messge status 014 - System Error, manual restart possible.
I can not cancel these with report RSXMB_CANCEL_MESSAGES or in SXMB_MONI, also resending is not an option.
How do I get rid of these messages?
Best regards,
Andreas
Hi,
Asynchronous messages that are in an Error status need to be cancelled before they can be archived and/or deleted.
This can be done by selecting the message(s) in the XML monitor (Tcode SXI_MONITOR), menu EDIT->Cancel Message with Errors.

Hi,
neither restarting nor cancelling works, however arch&del itself for new messages works - these are old messages from before arch&del was configured. Most of them are in message status 14, IE action DEL, reorg status INI. It is not possible to restart or to cancel, in XSMB_MONI they come up as processed successfully (checkered flag), but with an error on the outbound side.
Best regards,
Andreas
