ABAP Engine Installation on AIX / Oracle

Dear Team.

We want to install the ABAP engine on the AIX / Oracle Clustered Environment on we have EP 7.0 installed.

Can anyone guide as to how this can be achieved.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can use the normal installation procedure (http://service.sap.com/instguides).

I suggest using a different ORACLE_HOME for the ABAP instance as well as a different SID.

Actually i have all the installation guides. But my problem is the server(Cluster) that we are using already has EP 7.0 installed in it....

So i am worried would it cause any damage to the existing system.

I am hence looking if someone can guide on the steps that could be followed..

It's difficult (if not impossible) to give advises, nobody knows your environment, filesystem layout, cluster configuration etc...

Hi Markus,

I have two system in my Cluster (CI and DB) and three nodes in both the systems. We are using NW2004s on AIX 5.4 and Oracle 10.2g.

I suggest getting a Basis consultant on site, someone, who knows HACMP, can have a look at your current configuration (quorum, clusters filesystem et al) and can give suggestions, what´s the best and safest way to setup an additional system and if you need downtime according to your configuration or not.
