how will we check rfc connections at o/s level? my o/s is hp-ux.

No you cannot, I have never come across checking RFC from OS level...
However you can use BAPIs program/Web Dynpro to check the RFCs are available.

Have you ever checked RFCSDK at the kernel level.

RFC connections are typically dynamic in nature and not a static system reousrce like a work process. Youll see a process on the server like gw or gw.exe, but to monitor the individual gateway threads, stick with transaction gode SMGW.
