Hi,
1. Actually SAP MMC which displays on your desktop it's shortcut to Windows MMC which is in windows directory. Open MMC then Click on menu "File" "Add/Remove Snap-in" Click on "Add" Select "SAP System Manager" then "Add" Type the system information <SID> as System and "<hostname> <instance number>" as Instance, then click on "Add".
Now you can start SAP from MMC.
or
Goto command prompt and execute command <b>startsap</b>
2. If you are running on same system why can't you install.
3. Background Jobs will be scheduled from SM36 and scheduled jobs can be deleted from SM37 Job overview.
All the activities will be stored in log.
