Hi guys,
after failure of sneak preview installation of SAP NETWEAVER 04 SR1 I am trying to uninstall the Db instance J2E
I went through blogs and then finally I got SAP OSS note 599129.
Unfortunately there is no more service user defined therefore I cannot use the mentioned SAP note.
Do you have any suggestion?
Hello Giovanni,
what exactly do you mean with 'there is no more service user defined'?
As long as there is a database instance installed, the dbm user exists in the database.
Did you already delete some files manually?
Please explain in more detail, which steps you already executed on the machine.
Please also describe, which steps of the note work and in which steps you do get errors. Please copy these errors into this thread then.
Regards,
Melanie

Hi Melanie,
I uninstall the J2e only partly installed.
I tryed to install ita gain but I got errors.
Then I realized DB server is already on PC so I tryed to uninstall from windows tool ("Add Remove programs MAX DB").
Then I got error,something like."you cannot delete kernel withou deleting instance "
So I found the note and I tryed to use it going through the following steps:
1)
C:\sapdb\programs\bin>dbmcli db_enum
OK
J2E c:\sapdb\j2e\db 7.5.0.32 slow offline
J2E c:\sapdb\j2e\db 7.5.0.32 quick offline
J2E c:\sapdb\j2e\db 7.5.0.32 fast offline
2)
the DB is stopped there is not process running and in any case in the user management there is just my user pacegi1 therefore I cannot use service user in the command
3)
C:\sapdb\j2e\db\pgm>dbmcli -d J2E -u j2eadm.LMCGIOPAC,<password typed in >db_offline
Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database J2E: ERR_USRFAIL: user aut
horization failed
C:\sapdb\j2e\db\pgm>dbmcli -d J2E -u j2eadm,,<password typed in > db_drop
Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database J2E: ERR_USRFAIL: user aut
horization failed
There was J2EADM user but now it is no more there.I do not think I have manually deleted it.
Any further help?
thanks in advance
regards,
giammaria
Hello Giammaria,
dbmcli -d J2E -u control,<pwd> db_drop
< the default password of the control is control >
Do you remember which passwords you gave during the last J2E installation?
***
SAP Standard Users for MAXDB Database::
dbm ( Database Manager operator ) user - CONTROL( default password - control );
SYSDBA (UserDatabase System Administrator) User - SUPERDBA ( default password - admin);
Database administrator for the SAP system with the ID <SAPSID>
(database user of the type DBA) - SAP<SAPSID> ( default password - sap);
< In J2EE systems: DBA user - SAP<SAPSID>DB ( default password - sap);
MAXDB documentation available at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb,
Please review the information in MaxDB Library -> Basic Information
-> MaxDB Security Guide -> User Administration and Authentication
< -> Changing the Passwords of Standard Users >
***
Please check with 'xinstinfo J2E' command if IndepPrograms is c:\sapdb\programs first.
If you don't remmember the passwords of the DBM or SYSDBA users in the J2E
Database, in your case < you have only one database instance, which you going to drop & also delete the all database software > you could delete c:\sapdb directory, where database software is located and then follow the SAP note:
572836 Deleting the SAP DB Registry and service entries
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
