Installation of 4.6C

Is it possible to install 4.6c/MS SQL 8.0 on Windows 2003 Enterprise server.

Yes 100 % ! It is possible to install 4.6c/MS SQL 8.0 on Windows 2003 Enterprise server.

Hi Santosh,

Do i need to install the database software first ? and then C.I and D.I ? while installing the database i get NO option to choose an empty db to install, instead i get server and client tools !

When i run r3setup, it stops with error MSSQL is not correctly installed though i have tried various options to install the db.

do i have the wrong dump or i m i doing something incorrectly ?

Hello Awaiz,

1 ) Install MS SQL Database software.

2 ) Install CI & after successful installation of CI

3 ) Install DI

Hi Santosh,

Thanks for those quick replies. Is there a way to check if i have installed the db software correctly. The services are listed correctly and im able to access sql tools.

Dear Awaiz,

SQL Service should be up and running in services ( MSSQLSERVER )

In MMC Enterprise Manager ... > Microsoft SQL Server - > SQL server Group - > Local ( should be green )

Further check if you can access the databases master , model , pub ...etc
