Hi,

For SRM 6.0 , Portals is compulsory.

which SRM version are you using?

Multiple clients are required if you want to use Supplier self services. this is because transfer of documents needs to happen between purchaser and supplier systems.

everything depends on which scenario you want you use .

Hi Usman,

Thanks for the reply.

I am yet to see SRM system but the version would be 6.0.

Can you guide me with any documents ?

What exactly is the difference between SRM-SUS / EBP ??

Regards,

RJ

Hi,

You can go through the SAP Help for documentation relevant to SRM 6.0

Apart from that if you have access to service.sap.com , LOGON id and password are required.

You can access this site and then download the documents from there (installation , configuration , upgrade) relevant to version SRM 6.0

All guides are available there .

1.Then the difference between SRM-SUS and SRM-EBP is that , it is just the component .

SRM-SUS means SUPPLIER SELF SERVICE

SRM-EBP means ENTERPRISE BUYER PROFESSIONAL.

SUS is the supplier side and EBP is the Buyer side .

Hello Usman,

Plz correct me if i am wrong..

So SUS & EBP is similar to

PP, QM, SD , etc modules in SAP R/3.

Secondly in a typical SRM installation is the components SUS & EBP both installed ? If so are they on the same client or different clients?

Regards,

Rahul

Rahul,

SUS & EBP are both part of SRM , but only different components .

Installation depends on the clients requirements , some use only EBP , some use both SUS & EBP.

SUS is mainly used if you want to communicate with vendors .

Again installation can have various possibilties , it is possible to have SUS & EBP in the same client.

And also it is possible to have SUS & EBP in different clients.

Hi Rahul,

your questions cannot be just answered like yes/no or dos/don'ts. SRM has been

developing into a complex area, where background knowledge, IT Knowledge and

Process KnowHow is required. It is not just a setting of flags or table entries, like

in R/3. Please have a look into sap.hep.com to get insight into SRM. Also SMP

offers a lot of docus to start from. Think also about a training to get an intro.

Sorry, but is is getting scary for me, that there are guys out there in projects

having only some idea of SAP SRM and trying to get into it with some docs .... .

Please understand my thoughts - thanks.

Cheers,

Claudia

Hello Claudia,

I do agree with you.

I am not a SRM Functional consultant. I am into Netweaver and wanted to learn SRM from integration point of view not to give

functional consultancy to clients.

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

you can have your SUS in SRM server, but SAP recommends SRM and SUS in different systems.

For more information on SUS funcationality, you can go through this link
