Hi Srinivas,

>>>Now iam planning to switch over to net weaver XI.my query is which component suits me in NW either EP or Exchange Infrastructure?

if you like ALE, idocs, rfc then XI

>>>Could you tell me? i want to learn on my own by installing XI or other. So how to start my preparation.

if you can for a while a NW sneak preview (with XI) will be available on SDN (SAP says: Comming soon!)

all of the info you can find on:

- service.sap.com/netweaver -> how to giudes for XI

- sdn.sap.com -> https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/developerareas/xi.sdn?node=linkDnode5

- XI FAQ - /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/06/28/xipi-faq-frequently-asked-questions

- XI forum

you can learn it on your own with the sources mentioned above

Hi srinivas,

In XI, yes you have separate sections for design and configuration.I guess if u go through the study material and clear your concepts, you 'll understand it better..

http://help.sap.com is a useful link.

And as 4 certification, yes you can do it simultaneously.

You can write it during TEC_ED in october in Banglore or in general also...

happy learning!!

Cheers,

Divya

>><i>can i write certification simultaneously if yes please give me the procedure</i>

have a look at the following link about certification

Hi Srinivas

As you said you have less knowledge in core java and EJB, I think you can give a go to Exchange Infrastructure. Knowledge in XML comes in handy for Exchange Infrastructure which you can also gain gradually.

As you are a newbie it is important for you to first understand the Netweaver Stack and the role of Exchange Structure in it. For this go through this link

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e1/8e51341a06084de10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm

Now start reading this link to understand the architecture of XI

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

Once you go through these links and are a bit aware what all XI objects do, you can try a simple "File to File Scenario" which would help you to understand XI objects in a much better manner.

For help on this scenario go through this blog it is in two parts thus i am providing both links below:

/people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/02/introduction-to-simplefile-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart1

/people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/03/introduction-to-simple-file-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart2

I hope if it helps, you'll give me points.

Thanks & Regards
