ERP integration with LonWorks by Echelon (factory automation)

Hi All,

I would just like to ask if anyone here has an experience or was involved in integrating LonWorks to SAP/mySAP ERP in a factory automation setting?

If so, can you give a brief summary of the integration...

e.g. integration points... was XI used or some other API from SAP?

Since LonWorks is used to control LonWorks compatible devices in a control system using the internet (web services) i am enthusiastic on how the LonWork devices directly connects to SAP and thereby influencing the functionality of both applications. e.g. ERP

Any sharing would be highly appreciated.

Hi

if u want to Connect Webservices to R/3 U send SOAP Request to R/3 and if u r using IDOC for R/3 redirect IDOC Acknowldgement back to SOAP.

Thanks for your answer, but i already know the SOAP and IDOC scenarios.

What i would want to know is the Configuration needed to integrate LonWorks with ERP like SAP, perhaps more on the hardware and software linking

I am quite late to this matter!

We have in our BrightCore family of products native Lonworks node which works over IP 852 and could be solution for your problem. Since it can make any PC lon node you can simple add requested functionally on top of our Lon node.
