about wbs realse AND activity realse

hi,dear all:

I want to know if wbs can be set REL automaticlly when it created,and if one wbs element is realsed, the activity of it can be realsed automaticlly .

Hi,

WBS rel status cannot be set automatically, rather it is a control given to user so as to restrict the operations/transactions of a project by not releasing it and keeping it in created status.

Regarding your second question, there are two scenarios:

1. WBS and activity are created first and then wbs is released. In this case activity will get released automatically, also all the activities you attach further will get released automatically.

2. WBS is created and released, then activity is created. In this case activity will remain in created status and you need to re-release the wbs or network. Once you do this, subsequent activities which you attach to this wbs will get released automatically.

Hi Jian

You can do that. Just set the Project Definition status to RELEASE, any WBS created new will be in released state

Do the same to networks for newly created activities to be saved in released status.

Hi Renjith,

Releasing the project definition will release all wbs (existing as well as later additions) attached to it. You can't exercise control over release of a particular wbs. i.e. if u dont want to release some wbs for a particular time interval you cant achieve it.
