Former Member

Hi,

While installing NWDS , we install jdk at a time or it asks for the path of jdk if it is already istalled .

What my doubt is generally which version of jdk should be installed .whether its

J2SDK 1.4 or JDK 1.5 .

Is it related to the NWDS version which i am installing .If i am using NWDS 7.0 then which version of JDK i should install .

Thanks .

Hi Kl,

Use j2sdk1.4.2_09 for NWDS 7.0

Check this document also.

You can use JDK1.5 as well.

Choose any one of the JDK mentioned by you.

Hi,

Just verified something.

With 7.0 and onwards use only JDK1.5.

Don't use any version lower than this. You might get problems in NWDS

Sorry for wrong info earlier.

Hi,

You can install JDK1.5 for NWDS04s ie NWDS 7.0

You should also install JRE along with it, so that you will have a java runtime environment.

However, please install jdk and jre into seperate folers.

Mostly, JDK is installed in C:/JAVA and JRE is installed inside C:/Program Files/JAVA, (Assuming C is ur primary drive)

Install NWDS after you have installed JDK & JRE
