Internal Number ranges - Alpha numeric

Please let me know is it possible to assign Alpha numeric internal number ranges to sales documents or material documents. Pl explain.

Hi,

It is a good basic question . External number ranges can be alphanumeric. whereas internal number ranges cannot be alphanumeric.

While defining number ranges, you must specify an interval say from .....10.to ...20....so that the system will identify that after 10, 11 will follow as an internal number assignment, while creating a document,

But when you give 10A to 20B, there is no valid numbers between these intervals & the system cannot identify the next number

So internal number ranges cannot be alphanumeric
