ship to party

Hi,

I'm rying to create a ship to party in a normal sale process ( SD).

At the end of process, after compiled all field required a pop up of error appair with this message: "account 9400000001 already exists".

I don't understand, what I have to do and check???

Are you selecting the right account type for the ship to party that has been set up in your system?. If there is no difference in the sold to /ship to parties then you do get a message about them being the same.

It is the problem with the number ranges.check whether it is internal or external number range.First check the number range assigned to the account group.

Then check whether it is assigned internal or external using T.code:VN01.

Is the number range for the account group for the sold to party internally assigned or externally assigned?

I would start with checking the number assignments for the account groups. Check in IMG under Logistics General - Business Partner - Control - Define and Assign Customer Number Ranges
