Role of supplier extranet in XI????

Pls can anybody provide me with some information on role of SAP XI in supplier extranet?

Any realtime scenarios with presentations r most welcome.

the same as in any b2b scenario with XI

(sending invoices from R3, sales orders etc)

generally sending/receiveing all documents from business partners

We receive catalogues to upload into SRM, send POs back to supplier and give a self service portal for the supplier.
