APO - R3 integration

Hello ,

In R3 System we have a option to "Integration with other sap component"--->Advanceed Planer and Optimizer-->Basic Settings for Setting Up the System Landscape-->Specify SAP APO Release ( Via SPRO )

My queries are

1> After upgrade , release of SCM is changed to SCM 5.0 but still settings containing old APO release. Will it cause problems?

2> if we want to change it, how it can be done? ( means ways to do it.I know one direct change through SPRO. Is there nay other way?)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Hello Somnath,

We have to change client setting because if we try to maintain New APO release

via SPRO or via T.Code NDV2, it gives error saying :"Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing not permitted"

Thats why we have to change client settting via scc4.

One more thing is there any way to change this setting to all connected systems

automatically rather than doing it manually to every system connected to APO.( NOW SCM 5.0 )

Hello Shibu,

Thanks.

So its not clear which problems will it cause due to old settings.

if SPRO is only setting, we may need to change client settings in SCC4 ( i.e cross client / repository changes are allowed)

How can we find out how many other systems are transferring data to APO or connected to APO.

SCC4 is different from APO-R/3 Integration.

It is for client administration and even upon Upgrade the old settings for the original client should be maintained. That should not have any impact on the upgraded system.

To see what other systems are transferring data to APO or connected to it check the logical system definitions in SM59. If the connected ERP system logical system definition (lke Client, IP address and user name for connection) are same then no change is required post upgrade. But check the settings about the Application Component version and update as relevant.

Thanks,

Somnath

It might create problem for some of the data exchange via CIF. Change the settings via SPRO.
