Dear Sap gurus,
In what situations it will trigger the error message " Item category can not be invoiced for this billing type"
Thanks
Hari Challa.
In VOV7 select the correct Billing relevance in the Billing Relevance field on Business data of I.C. Then your problem will be solved.
Rwd if this helps.

Hi,
In VOV7 select the required item category. Here when you display it there is a field called as 'billing relevance'. Here if you maintain that this item category is not relevant for billing then when you try to create an invoice with a particular document type then you will get this error.
In VOV4 you also do the item category determination.
Reward valuable points if solution found useful.

It is possible if in Item Category (T.Code: VOV7) -> Billing Relevance field is left Blank.

Hi Hari,
This message is faced if you don't maintain the item category you are trying to invoiced in copy control at item level
For order related billing it has to maintained in VTFA(For order type and billing type you are using) and for delivery related billing it has to be maintained in VTFL(For delivery type and billing type you are using)
Reward points if useful
