System copy issue

Hi

We just restored a BW 3.5 system to a new server that does not have a previous version of this BW system.

We edited the start profiles to reflect the new server name and changed the *dtaara in R3BWD400 to reflect the new server name.

However the WP all die and the dev_ms (message sever) log still shows that the service is pointing to the old server name. Is there anothe place where this is stored?

Hi Matt,

did you really Re-Logon after changing the dataarea ?

You should check with WRKENVVAR NOW and try to restart ! SAPDBHOST has to show the NEW server - otherwise logoff and logon again ...

You mentioned the start profile. Just to be sure: did you take care of the instance profile as well?

The naming convention for this is <SID>_<role><nn>_<host>.
