any body please suggest me one standard backup strategy . the platform is ibm aix /db2
thanks
Dear Akhil,
First of all the backup strategy depends on how company wants to maintain its data and log back ups.
One complete Data Back up once in 15 days. offline backup.
Daily incremental online back up of both Data and Log.
Log backup can be save and delete form.
This will help you point in time recovery incase you face any crashes.
Thanks & Regards
Vivek

Backup Strategy
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/d1/21714b7d3a11d288ec0000e8200722/frameset.htm
And

And
Yes, basically it depends on the company.
ie it varies company to company.
And before go-live ,
Take DEV daily backup
Qty weekly twice, PRD daily.
After golive,
Take Dev weekly thrice, Qty once in a week, Prd daily.
Note: Points always encourage me to reply !!
