Not at all possible.

The basic funda is WBS:Network is 1:N always irrespective of any scenario..

It can never be N:1.

This is not possible in SAP . But if you want to create an identical activity under more than one WBS element, you can use multiple networks. Please state your exact requirement.

Hi Renjith,

How does it help if we use multiple networks ?

Hi Jomy

It depends on what exactly your requirement is. You had specifically requested for an activity to be assigned to more than one WBS elements. This is not possible in SAP . But in the scenario where-in you want an identical activity within the same WBS maybe for comparing between the two during scheduling or for alternate resource and work assignment or for costing assignments you can create an identical activity under another network

I think that one activity cannot be assigned to 2 WBS.

If this was possible , the very basic principle of Activity & WBS would be defeated

If u have any specific scenario, just communicate

Hi Jomy,

Please refer the basic principle of WBS & Activity as follows.

A work breakdown structure (WBS) is a model of the work to be performed in a project organized in a hierarchical structure. The WBS is an important tool which helps you keep an overview of the project: It forms the basis for organization and coordination in the project. It shows the amount of work, the time required, and the costs involved in the project. It is the functional basis for further planning steps in a project, such as process planning, cost planning, scheduling, date and capacity planning, or costing, as well as project control.

Each WBS can then be broken down into networks of activities.A network can be thought of as a list of tasks organized into a process flow with specific timing.

Network map the flow of the project. A network can represent the sequence of activities in a project or the sequence of a single activity within a project.Activities describe the various tasks and work involved in the project, and the temporal and causal relationships between these tasks.Focus is on planning, analyzing, describing, controlling and evaluating tasks, scheduled dates, resources and material requirements.

Hope this helps.
