Thread mode view

I had been taking advantage of a sound <i>thread mode view</i> for a long time. Suddenly some days ago that configuration option stopped working.

Now when I open a message, all the messages in its thread are displayed. In my control panel I can limit the number of messages displayed (say 10, 15, 25 messages), but I can't set the thread mode anymore.

Do you know the reason for this behavior of SDN's forums?

It has been temporarily disabled for the time being, we are working on performance issues and when checking we found that less that a few hundred people actually took advantage of these other views so it was decided to disable it for the time being while we work on improving performance.

I see. It's a pity that so a few people were taking advantage of that feature. I think it's a useful way to encourage users to post in a more ordered way.
