R/3 RFC destinations to XI..Only one for all senders is ok?

Hi !

We have several RFC Sender scenarios to send data from R/3 to XI.

The question is: using only one rfc destination - program id, for all rfc sender scenarios..could be a problem? all use different message interfaces. The program ID will be used only in ONE comm channel.

Basis people say that we should use only one for all, to avoid strange rfc destination problems that sometimes occur and need to stop and start rfc adapters.

Regards,

Matias.

Hi,

Sender RFC communication channel should be different for each scenario. Hence different Program ID and hence different RFC destinations with registered program id..

If so, just a suggestion, why can't you try out Proxy >XI scenarios rather doing a RFC>XI scenario? If so you can minimize no,of RFC destinations and also performance if you have huge message processing logic

Hope this helps,.

Moorthy

using one is less maintenance, more streamlined requests and less open or hanging dialog sessions.

it's not necessarily a bad thing but it does reduce your flexibility with config.

Hi,

I dont think you can use a single RFC destination across scenarios. I have created a RFC destination each for a scenario.

Hi Jai !

Thanks.

Did you have any performance issues using only one RFC destination? or you never tryied it ?

We have only one sender rfc across all scenarios. We have two receiver rfc channels in order to route to different rfc groups in r/3. No issues with either.
