Multiple instances on one server

I've installed multiple pure ABAP instances on one server before and it worked fine.

Now I want to install multiple SRM-EBP&CCM systems (ABAPJavaTrex+ICM for IE access) on one server, anybody know does it work?

Thanks for you comment.

Dear all

How about the patch release streategy.?

Now i have installed E-Portal and ECC6.0 in same hareware develpoment box(share hardware, and OS).

During implemenation If we found bug in ECC6.0 and then we need to apply oss patch and os patch difference from E-Portal that install in the same box.Does it have effect each other.?How about concern in this situation.?

Hi,

If it is OSS patch (SAP note) then it will be instance specific so if it is applied for ECC 6.0 then only ECC 6.0 will be affected. If it is OS patch then both will get affected.

Hello,

This will work provided you have sufficient hardware resources to support it otherwise system performance will be little lower than expected.

Ofcourse you can install ABAP + Java stacks on single server and to achieve better performance of search engine TREX can be installed on differe host.

But if you have real good hardware resource you can go ahead with this on the single host.

Thanks & Regards

Seems HW resource is major characters to be considered.

This case is only used for Sandbox (play around) & Pre-production (verification). We've got 4*CPUs & 8G memory, performance will not be a issue for us.

There is no server for Trex. Fortunately, CCM searching load is not so heavy. Thanks for you comment.
