Key and Non-Key Fields

Can someone bring out the difference between key and non-key fields in relation to adding the fields to a condition table in pricing? SAP documentation says that "The key fields of a condition table must appear at the start of the table, in other words, non-key fields must not appear between any two key fields."

Thanks,

hi,

hope you got confused, Key field is the unique field in the table (eg: Employee ID )

Non-key field may not required to be unique.

so while declaring key field it shld be beginning of the table .

In SAP, as concerned for Condition Table, it is recommended & a practise that all Key fields should come before the non-key fields. Hence the relevance is that Key fields are fields, whch are required & play an important role as compared to no-key fields.
