hi
we have some default mappers in EDI like BIC. what is the purpose of these mappers and when we will use these mappers?? why there are so many mappers ?? In what way these are different from mapping tool in xi ??
thanks
kumar
Kumar,
BIC is from SeeBurger. They have given some prebuilt mappings for some standard EDI documents. As you know the complexity of the EDI mapping is very huge. So they have given predefined mappings. Once if you install those adapters you will directly use them. With this you dont have pain in doing mapping once again. So before purchasing you have to see what types it supports.

Kumar,
If you are using BIC seeburger adapter in XI then which mapper we are going to use ?? whether EDI mapper or XI mapper ??
EDI Mapper.
Whether XI suppot to use EDP mapper like BIC Mapper ??
Yes
If you install them in your XI box then you will use them directly in the place of XI mapping. If you get the documents once when you purchase them else you can search in SeeBurger website.

Hi,
For the some of the industry standards we use this type of mappers. Because most of the time it is standard.
when you want to customize something, then you need to have some mapping tool to do .. then if you are using XI as an Integration tool then you can use XI mapping editor. Else you need to have some tool to do Transformation right., Hence these EDI -Standards etc are used
Hope this helps
Rgds.
