what is the difference between a SAP 4.7 Unicode installation and a SAP 4.7 Non unicode installation?

First one is UNICODE (each char is stored on 2 (or more bytes) and thats why it requires more system resources, but it will be easier to upgrade to ERP2005 or newer)
Second one is NON-UNICODE (uses codepages etc.)
If I where you I'd install UNICODE (less trouble in future).
