or one as to one only ?

why sales org is assigned at company code level why not on plant level ?

hi,

depending on the business requirement you can assign many sales org's to a company code. It is when the sales are of a different nature we create a second sales org.

sales org + dis. chan combination assignment to plant determines whether the goods of that plant can be sold thru this sales org or not.

sales org work for a business entity for sales purpose and that entity is a company code and so the assigment.

Assignment of sales organization and distribution channel to a plant will ensures that the product can be delivered from that plant, then it becomes a delivering plant when ever the assignment takes place

We can assign multiple Sales organzation to one company code, but one sales Organization cannot be assigned to sevearl conpany code.

Plant is linked to combination of sales organization & Distribution Channel at Enterprise struture level.

Hi,

Generally a sales organization belongs to just one company code. But u can assign multiple sales organizations to one company code. If the Sales Org is assigned to company code, then the revenues generated by that sales org & profitability analysis can be easily determined.

for SD Sales org

for MM plant

why sales org is assigned to company code and plant also.

Hi Ajay,

One Sales Orgn can be assigned to only one company code, whereas, one company code can have multiple sales org.

Sales Org is an organizational unit which is responsible for sales of the product. So any revenue generated by selling these products has to be posted in the accounting books of the company code.

Plant is also assigned to a Sales Line(Sales Org + Dist Chnl)

Multiple sales organizations can be assigned to company code.

Company code is the highest organizational unit and plant and sales organization are assigned to it.

In the logistics module, Plant is the highest entity in the MM module and Sales organization is the highest entity in SD module. Basically with this assignment of plant and sales org to company code all the financial accounts are updated.

Assigning of Sales org to company code and not to plant is the standard functionality that helps map most business processes.
