Hi Sankalp,
Before implementing SAP R/3 to any business, we need to identify the main orgnizational elements of that business, like company, company code, sales orgnization, its distribution channels, divisions, sales offices, sales groups etc.
This elements must be mapped accordingly in the SAP system, to implement for that business.
All this process we do using Enterprise Structure.
In enterprise structure, we identify oppropriate organizational elements of that business (which are practically used by that client) and map in the system for further process.
path for this is : IMG -> ENTERPRISE STRUCTURE -> DEFINATION and after defining all the required organizational elements we do ASSIGNMENT (means making relationship between these organizational elements).
Once after completing this task, we need master data to work with it.
Master Data is the main source of information which is used for long time and
cant be modifed regulerly.
Like Customer, Material, Conditions, Outputs etc.
Customer Master Data (CMR) is the master data pertaining to Customers.
We use this data for all Business Transactions like Sales Activites.
We create this using VD01 or XD01 or FD01.
Material Master Data (MMR) is the master data pertaining to Materials. First we need to maintaine this for all the materials which we use.
Hope this gives you an idea.
REWARD IF HELPFUL.
Regards,
Praveen

Hi
Enterprise structure is nothing but the organisation structure. When we are configuring the system, first we have to configure the organisation and its structure. For further details on enterprise structure , you can go to
http://digg.com/tech_news/Enterprise_Structure_in_SAP_R_3
CMR and MMR are master data of custoemrs and materials created in XD01 and MM01 respectively. These are necessary to create transactions. We have to create orders for customers, and on particular materials. To help the sales and procurement of materials, material master will have lot of data in it.
Reward if this helps.

enterprise structure
In the SAP R/3 System you can use several structures to represent the legal and organizational structure of your company. You can structure from the point of view of accounting, materials management, and sales and distribution. It is possible to combine these structures. The organizational structures form a framework in which all business transactions can be processed.
customer master record
A company deals with different natural and legal persons during business transactions: A customer orders goods from your company. A forwarding agent might deliver goods to the customer. An employee within the company processes the business transactions. All roles a natural or legal person can assume are represented by business partners in the SAP R/3 System.
All the information related to customer recorded in the CMR
All the information related to materials recorded in the MMR
