Requirement:

A factor in the condition technique that restricts access to a condition table. The system only accesses a condition table to determine the price if the requirement specified has been met.

Example:

The system uses an access sequence to determine the price of a material. One of the accesses in the sequence contains the requirement "in foreign currency." The system only uses the table behind this access if the sales order for which the price must be calculated is in a foreign currency.

Requirement acts as a search criteria & reduces the load on the system.

The reqmt plays the same role as the reqmt in pricing procedure.

If a condition type has an access sequence and the materdata has to be accessed for this access seq only under specific circumstances, those checks can be put in the form of routine in VOFM and then the routine can be assigned at teh a.s level.

The advantage of assigning at A.S. level is that it can control the access of multiple condition type.

So it actually depends on where one has to put the requirement, whether at condition type level, or at condition table level or at access sequence level.

Reward if this helps.

Requirement:

It is a routine that is written by an ABAP consultant according to the business requirement.

By defining Requirement in condition technique we can restrict the access of condition type.

For rebates we use the condition types BO01 to BO05, and in the Requirement column we give the value 24 which is “Only in Billing Document”.

This Requirement will ensure that these condition types will appear only during the billing document processing.

If you mark a condition type as "statistical", system will not pick up the value of the condition type.

2. There are broadly 4 categories of condition types in the pricing procedure. Following are the categories:

Cat 1 : Base Price

Cat 2 : Discount

Cat 3 : Freight

Cat 4 : Taxes.

If you do not assign an account key in the pricing procedure then the system will not post to G/L account.

3.The access sequence is a search strategy which the SAP System uses to search for condition records valid for a condition type.

The access sequence defines the order in which the system searches for the condition records.

Exclusive Indicator:

Controls whether the system stops searching for a record after the first successful access for a condition type within an access sequence.

That means it stops the search procedure with one condition table if it finds the condition record.

Otherwise it will go to each and every step until it reaches the last record

Requirements is a set of rules/ formula, which has to met before the access is used.

Requirements in access sequence is used to reduce the time taken for retrival of data.

Eg.

If the access is applicable only for export business, requirement 8 can be used. This requirement checks whether the order is export business. If yes then access is used, if no the system goes to next access.

Requirement is used in access sequence because If that particular requirement(Depending on project demands) is satisfied then only the access sequence will be executed otherwise No.
