Hi,

As far as I know, we still can't run Bex report and Web Dynpro development Studio on Windows Vista. Does SAP have any supporting roadmap plan for these two client software?

I can´t say for webdynpro development but for BEx there´s Note 1040856 - Business Explorer 3.X on Windows Vista / Excel 2007:

Microsoft Vista and Excel 2007 will be supported officially as of the next BW 3.5 Frontend patch. These patches should be available by the end of September 2007.

  • BW 3.5 for SAP GUI 6.40: Frontend Patch 13 (see Note 1006943)

  • BW 3.5 for SAP GUI 7.10: Frontend Patch 2 (see Note )

Known problems:

  • Microsoft Vista and BEx Query Designer: See Note 1050174.

  • Microsoft Excel 2007, Vista and BEx Analyzer: See Note 1045244.

  • Excel 2007 and BW precalculation servers: You cannot use Microsoft Excel 2007.

Thank you Markus!

The information is very helpful. Does anyone else know about Web Dynpro support?

Hi Markus,

Thank you for the information. However, our current Business Explorer version is 7.x. Is Windows Vista ok for this version? Thank you very much.

Ok - here´s that info (Note 1013140 - BI Frontend / BW Add-on - General Information & Limitations)

Kown Limitations for BI Frontend 7.x:

  • Report Designer is not working / it shows only black cells

  • BEx Analyzer is not released for Windows Vista (until Frontend Support Package 1)

  • BEx Analyzer is not released for Office 2007

So that means that you can use

BI Frontend 7.10 with at least Patch 1 and Office 2003

Does that answer your (BI-)Question?

We're trying to run BEX 3.5 and 7.0 concurrently across Vista and XP operating systems. We're having a few issues (CLR fatal errors, macro errors), predominantly on XP.

SAP has confirmed that they will be releasing patches early next week... anyone got any further information?
