All,

I installed the Solution Manager 4.0

I did not get any error message.

All the installation phase has completed successfully.

I tried to log in with the DDIC and SAP* passwd but I was not able to login.

in client 000

Please advise.

Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon.

Dear PT,

If you have forgotten the SAP* password in the client and there is

no other means of getting in the client try the following :

1. Logon to the OS level ie windows level on the Server.

2. From an SQL prompt : execute the following command:

delete from USR02 where mandt=<Clientno> and bname = 'SAP*';

commit;

3. Exactly one entry should be deleted.

4. Kindly set the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0. By

default the value of this parameter will be 1 in Release 700.

5. Then try logging in via client 001 to the system using user "SAP*"

and password "PASS".

Hope that the solution helps.

Hi Pranav,

Try SAP* with 06071992 in both clients and DDIC with 19920706.

If these do not work, then maybe you typed the master password in a different language/UpperCase

The only problem is I tried to create the client from 001 and tried to login with

SAP* in target client.

The SAP*/pass is not working.

Please advise.

Hi PT,

during the installation of the SolMan you had to define a so called "master password". This is the password ALL up to now known standard passwords (as for SAP* and DDIC e.g.) are overwritten with. Take it and you can logon to your system.

If you want to try to logon with sap*/pass you have to set explicitely the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar as described in note #68048.
