Raj,

Any documentation on this? Why do you think there will be a restriction on the number of variables?

Bhavesh,

I'm sorry, its not 9/12 its 20. The maximum variables allowed in UDF is 20. I haven't come across any of the documents, but if you try to create variable in UDF the maximum allowed parameter in 20. Please give a try and also correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Best regards,

raj.

Raj,

While declaring the UDF we can have a maximum of 20. But within the function also we can declare. I think we should not have any restriction for this.

Satish,

<i>But within the function also we can declare</i>.

I'm sorry I confused, is this thread relating to the local variables used in UDF or the no.of arguments can be used in UDF? If its the no.of.arguments, could you tell me how we can define more than 20 parameters?

Best regards,

raj.

Raj,

I am assuming that the thread is related to max no. of variables we can have in UDF?

It could also be related to the number of entries in the input queue (hence the association with Advanced UDFs). If that is the case, I don't know any limitation.

Shiva,

There is no limit. If you are increasing the variables and the logic always check for performance of the mapping.
