Hi all,
Our SAP version is 4.7E and oracle 9.2.0.7and OS is hp-ux.
Please suggest me what is the recommended value for parameter "db_block_checksum".
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Nani
Hello Nani,
if you use the value FALSE it can potentially take longer until you recognize a block corruption (e.g. in case of hardware problems). The normal production operation is not impacted by DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM = FALSE.

Hello Nani,
DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM is not mentioned in the parameter notes 124361, 632556 or 830576 on purpose: The Oracle default TRUE should be used because this provides significant benefits in terms of early corruption detection. The performance degradation of this setting is minimal.
