Hi,

We are doing migration and upgradation project(Solaris to AIX5.3,Oracle 8.1.7 to 10.2 and 46C to ECC 6.0)

part of this we have completed DBEXPORT on sources system.

i want to import the same on NEW system. what is the procedure to follow.

i am following this procedure

1. installed central instance(CENTRAL.R3S)

2. installed oracle databse software99.2.0.1 and upgraded patchset to 9.2.0.7)

3.Run DBIMGR.R3S(it didn't asked the DBEXPORT path and in between lot of errors came)

suggest me what is the corect procedure to follow.

Thanks & Regards

how did you do the export? using r3setup, template dbexport.r3s?

-> you're doing a heterogeneous system copy (solaris -> aix)

-> you have to export oracle using r3load procedure (run r3setup and choose the appropriate template)

-> export the database

-> install target box

-> install central instance (running r3setup...you are on 46C!)

-> install database instance using r3setup and template dbmig.r3s

-> during db instance installation r3setup will stop/halt, so you can install oracle

-> install oracle 9i (patchset 9.2.0.8 - the only one supported starting 1st august 2007)

-> resume database instance installation

you will need:

-> a migration key (get it at sapnet)

-> a certified migration consultant (otherwise target system will not be supported by sap)

-> order the migration service from sap (otherwise target system will not be supported by sap)

after the copy is successfully finished you can start with the upgrade to ECC 6.0...by starting with the database upgrade to 10g...
