Error: 'SAP_treeContainer.WEBTREE.children.0' is null or not an object

I have inherited a set of SRM systems which I have little knowledge of how they were set up. I do however have several problems. One of these is the message above.

I connect to SRM via a browser session. When I attempt to log off I get a pop-up box containing the message

Error: 'SAP_treeContainer.WEBTREE.children.0' is null or not an object.

Does anyone have any idea's what could be causing this.

The system is SRM 4.0 running on ORACLE 9.2.0.5.
