opening pdf documents in SOLAR01

Hello All,

Is there a way to open pdf documents in SOLAR01.

If I try this now, an internet browser is opened which after a while will show:

<i>The page you are looking for is currently unavailable</i>

1) is it so that the solmandocumentation service needs to be enabled to show pdf documents.

2) is there a way to open pdf docs in adobe reader directly (without IE).

For me this solved the issue:

Add entry <b>PDF</b> to <b>SADOCGENERIC</b> through SM30.

Could hardly be any easier 🐵

Dears,

I have the same problem...my solution manager is 4.0 Unicode SR2 with stack 12. My SAPGUI is 640 with patch 26, Internet Explorer 6 SP2, Acrobat Reader 8

Thanks for the reply, but these settings are already fine. I can open any pdf regularly.

If this is a Basis issue like prakhar is saying,... is there anything specific I need to ask the basis-team to change?

Thanks for the reply. Problem I am having is that it always opens PDF documents in Internet Explorer straight away. I could not find any setting for this however.

Do you know if there is a setting that says to open pdf in IE or Acrobat Reader?

that's usually a computer specific setting.

Locate a .pdf file on your computer

Right click on the file

Click Open With

Click Choose Program

Select Acrobat and check the box to always use this program.

Click OK

Hi

You can view all pdf doc in solman itself just select the same and click display icon or just double click it it will open in solar01 or solar02 itself but wait for some time to get it loaded.

whereas if you want to open the doc in explorer just click the attributes and generate url and paste the same in explorer.

You can view in explorer this way.
