device Id not exists in the system list

device id is not exists in the SYSTEM

how do i add the device id to the system

previously, i have sync a few application and works fine,

yet , after i clean up merep_purge...the device id gone...

how to resolve this..

Hi yzme,

Hope your problem is resolved by now.

If not just like to mention following points and i am sure it will definitely answer all your queries.

1. Device ID gets generated only at the time of first time synchronisation with the MI server.

2. You can delete the device ID by running some function module or by uninstalling MI client.

3. but if you have deleted the device ID by mistake, you have to reinstall the application and after sync it will generate a new device ID.

4. When ever you deploy any new application it will generate a new mobile ID.

do not confuse the mobile ID with device ID. mobile ID is different for different application and user on same device.

Hi Yzme,

If you will use transaction MEREP_PD, you will get more clear picture on device ID and mobile ID.

In my earlier post i have bymistake mentioned reinstall application instead of that it is MI client framework.

merep_purge will never delete device ids. Merep_purge is meant to delete worklist , logs, inbox and outbox data.

did you run some other report to delete device id ?

ok..but..how come the device id is deleted from the list...

check in table MEREP_507 in column DEVICEGUID whether you device id exist or not.

can you check and let me know

i have reinstall my application and sync with a new id...

whenever the application get reinstalled , the new mobile id get generated but device id would remain the same.

uninstall and reinstall , the device id will change to a different one...

Hi Yzme,

Did you reinstall the MI Framework or just the application(like MAM), if you reinstall the Framework you will get a new device id, else you will just get a new mobile id for the reinstalled application.
