Customer Master Number Ranges

Hi Gurus,

If you would be able to tell me why our customer numbers are not all sequential. They are sequential from 1000000 to 1000010, but then jump to 1000015 and then 1000020.And also tell me What is Template customer.? What is the use of it.

Customer Template is used to gather information to upload customer master data using LSMW etc.

The discrepancy in the number range can be due to variety of reason, may be you are using the same number range for sold-to paty, ship-to party, payer etc. or Buffering in the number arnges is being maintained etc.

This is because buffering Number range is active. goto T,Code: SNRO --> Object: DEBITOR --> No of Numbers in Buffer - maintain it as 0.
