configuration of printer and applying sap notes

Iam on solman 4.0 SR2 and i want to know the procedure of configuration of printer over SAP application. Also i want to know wt r the various procedures of applying Sap notes over sytem and in wt cases/when do we need to apply them. Dear Somya,

The basic transaction to set an printer within an SAP system is SPAD.

I would recommend you to access the online SAP help at the following URL where you will find detailed information on how to set printers :

BTW printers are called as Output Device in SAP terminology.
