HI:
We are implementing SOLMAN 4.0 with CRM 5.0. I am trying to find out if anyone has used customizing synchronization to sync MDM tables in ECC and CRM.
Is there a document/information that talks about the pros and cons of using the MW to sync v/s implementing customizing synchronization in SOLMAN
Thanks in advance
Ajay Narula
Hi,
Have a look at OSS note 765937.
You should use MW objects to synchronize between ECC and CRM. You may be able to use customizing distribution between MDM and ECC but I think it depends very much on your MDM version. Version 5.5 will give you problems, I think. You cannot make a SM59 (RFC) connection to MDM version 5.5 from SolMan.
Here is a quote from the mentioned OSS note:
Summary
Symptom
The synchronization objects of the BBPCRM component are no longer supported for the comparison and the distribution using the SAP Solution Manager.
Other terms
R3AC3, R3AS, SCOUT, SCDT_SETUP, SCDT_GROUPS
Reason and Prerequisites
All CRM releases
Solution
For the Customizing download, use the middleware and the Customizing objects of this instead of the Customizing Scout and the Customizing distribution in the SAP Solution Manager.
