MS Office integration for Tx. solar01 and solar02

Former Member

Hi!

I have tested the MS Office integration via sa38. It seems to work.

BUT: I cannot open and edit any MS Office documents via Tr. solar01 and solar02.

I have applied different roles to the current user (e.g SAP_SOL_ROCOML).

But it is not possible to edit MS Office document.

According "Configuration Guide" it should either MS Office 2000 or 2002.

I have installed MS Office 2003.

Do this play some role?

Can some give any useful information?

thank you

regards

Hi,

In Microsoft word, Go to Menu Tools and select unprotect document.

This will solve your problem.

feel free to revert back.

Axel,

Are your documents opening in a new window?

Go to SOLAR01 > settings > user-specific > check the Seperate Document Maintenance Window checkbox.

Now when you click the pencil the document opens in a new window and you will see a button on the right hand side that says Unprotect. Additionally, under the tools menu you can select Unprotect Document.

Thank you!

My problem is I cannot open or edit any MS Office documents in the solarxx.

It seems some authorizaitons or activations should be undertaken.

I can open .txt or .html files but not the MS Office documents.

Axel,

are your settings like I described?

Is the document checked out?

have you tried having someone with SAP_ALL attempt to edit the document?

what other type of trouble shooting have you done?

Hi!

Yes, my settings are as you descirbed. Yes, I have SAP_ALL profile

What do you mean with protect document. Is this issue in SAP or in MS Word?

I guess my problem is, that some settings should be done...

Thank you for further information

it's a Word issue usually. The document is protected from changes. You have to unprotect it first. Have you done this?

Hi!

Yes, also the word settings are ok

I guess I have not protect the document.

You mean: MS WORD (DE): Extras (Menu) --> Optionen (Options) --> Sicherheit (Security) --> Dokument schützen (Protect document)

I think it should be a problem on the SAP level (authorizations or settings)

It would be great to get the solution. I am waiting for the answer for two days here.

Thank you very much
