Failed to edit MS Word documents in Tx. solar01 and solar02

Hi!

<b>I have still the problem opening and editing the MS-office documents in the Tx. solar01, solar02.</b> I can open and edit the .txt-files, but it is not possible to edit the MS-Office documents.

Can some one please help here?

Hello,

I think I have the same Problem. Everytime I try to open / edit a WORD or EXCEL file in the Solution Manager I get the following error Message: THE DOCUMENT CANNOT BE EDITED.

It seams like SM is not able to start the MS Word or MS Excel Application because with Txt Document types (where the SAP Editor is started) everything works fine.

The problems lies with the SAP GUI 710, we solved the problem by patching the GUI to Patch Level 4.

Update your GUI to the latest version and Patch

Sometimes documents in Solman becoming Protected from being changed. Usually there is a button on the right that says something like "Unprotect", and then it can be changed and saved.

I think under the tools menu it says Unprotect too.
