Dear Srinivasarao,

Immediate : Loads the selected MDM repository immediately (updates indices if necessary)

Update Indices : Loads the selected MDM repository after updating its indices

Naveen.

Hi,

When you choose Immediate, MDM automatically

updates those indices that it knows to be out of date as a result of changes you make to the MDM repository data through the MDM Client.

However, when you modify the structure of the repository itself

through the MDM Console, MDM cannot know precisely which indices

need to be updated. In these cases, you should choose Update Indices rather than Immediate when you load the repository.

When to use Update Indices:

If you make changes to the MDM repository schema – such as adding

or deleting tables or fields – the Update Indices option must be used

when you reload the MDM repository

After restoring an MDM repository from an archive, it is

recommended that you use the Update Indices option of the Load

Repository command.

u can find this difference in reference guide also.

Thanks,

Maheshwari.

Hi Srini,

I agree wt Maheshwar's point on the Archive, I have faced an issue while not chossing Update Indicess once import the repository from the Archive, I have lost all my taxnomy attributes and its values, obviously links too...so from then have started using Update Indices for the respository load.

thanks

Dear Srinivasarao,

Immediate : Loads the selected MDM repository from the accelerator files present in the memory.

Update Indices : Loads the selected MDM repository from the database after updating all the changes that were made in the repository.
